In order to better develop products and services that will benefit the entire media industry Clickability has assembled its Media Board of Advisors.
Clickability believes that major industry transformations cannot be launched in isolation.

Clickability’s Media Board of Advisors includes senior executives with experience leading many of the largest and most influential media companies in the United States including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time Inc and NBC.

These are challenging economic times that present a compelling reason to look at new business models and revenue strategies. These senior executives will be helping to define the future of the media industry.

Board members include:

Tim Bradbury: President, American City Business Journal

Tim Bradbury: President, American City Business JournalTim Bradbury is responsible for directing and overseeing ACBJ’s New Media activities. ACBJ New Media’s customer base is comprised of nearly 10 million monthly unique users across business, sports and enthusiast sites. This includes but is not limited to ACBJ’s network of 42 local business journal sites, including bizjournals.com, bizwomen.com, greenbizjournal.com, sportingnews.com, scenedaily.com, Inside Lacrosse and Hemmings.com. Bradbury joined ACBJ in 2000 as executive vice president of bizjournals. Prior to ACBJ, Bradbury was a senior executive with Thomson Corporation, leading their online education and reference services and also heading up acquisition activities.

Brian Buchwald: SVP, Local Digital Media and Multiplatform, NBC

Brian Buchwald: SVP, Local Digital Media and Multiplatform, NBCBrian Buchwald oversees the development of new business models and enterprises, including joint ventures, investments and partnership opportunities that expand NBCU’s expertise in local media to a broader geographic footprint. Before his current role, Buchwald worked on the Hulu.com launch where he led the distribution partner network, which included Yahoo!, MSN, MySpace, AOL and Comcast. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of nbbc (the National Broadband Company), an NBCU digital venture. In that capacity, he helped develop the business model for and managed the September 2006 launch of nbbc, a unique B2B service that empowered advertisers, content creators and publishers to access, monetize and distribute digital video. He played key roles in NBCU's acquisition of iVillage.com and the digital partnership between Telemundo and Yahoo! He was also the digital media representative to the company's Broadcast Affiliate Futures Committee. Previous positions include overseeing strategy and business development for PointRoll, Inc. (sold to Gannett in June 2005), advising AT&T Wireless on the successful launch of its e-commerce division and working with the private equity firms General Atlantic Partners, Archer Martin and BRM Capital on new digital ventures. He was also an M&A investment banker in the Morgan Stanley Technology Group in Silicon Valley.

Aiden Colie: Senior Media Technology Executive, formerly SVP Web Technology, Time, Inc.

Aiden Colie: formerly SVP Web Technology, Time, Inc.Aiden Colie is former senior vice president, Web technology at Time Inc. Interactive. In that role, he was responsible for addressing strategic Internet technology issues as well as overseeing day-to-day operation and development of Time Inc.’s Web sites, most notably People.com and Time.com. Prior to joining Time Inc., Mr. Colie was at Ziff Davis, where he was Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in charge of the company’s 50-plus internet properties. Earlier in his career, Colie spent almost 19 years in lead technology roles at various financial services companies. Colie is a frequent speaker at industry events and is considered a leading expert on online publishing, content management systems, internet technology and offshore outsourcing.

Cathryn Cronin Cranston, Cathryn Cranston Consulting & Senior Media Executive

Cathy Cranston is a senior media executive with global expertise in sales and marketing, premium content, and digital distribution.  She is founder of Cathryn Cranston Consulting, a leading strategy firm for authors, publishers, and aggregators of premium and thought-leadership content. From 2006 to 2008, she was Executive Vice President at Mansueto Ventures, the home of the Inc. and Fast Company media brands. 

Previously, she was publisher of the Harvard Business Review, the leading journal of management thought and ideas. She began her publishing career at The New York Times, where for 12 years she held a variety of strategic planning, marketing and sales management positions in New York and California.  Ms. Cranston serves on the Board of Directors of American Media Inc. She also serves on the board and is immediate past Chairman of the Governing Board of the Chicago-based Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.  She is also on the advirory board of the Columbia Journalism Review and on the advisory boards of two start-ups.

Colin Crawford:  CEO and Founder of Media7

Colin Crawford: Strategist and former Executive VP of Interactive, IDG CommunicationsColin Crawford is CEO and Founder of Media7, a consultancy and strategic advisory company focusing on mobile media. He is also a Venture Affiliate at IDG Ventures San Francisco, a Senior Fellow and Advisory Board member of the Society for New Communications and an advisor to a number of early and mid-stage companies.

Mr. Crawford is a seasoned executive leader and accomplished entrepreneur with a track record of management success over 20 years in diverse international media businesses, including print, online and mobile properties. He held a series of senior executive leadership roles at IDG (International Data Group) from 1993 to 2008.

Gordon Crovitz:  Co-founder of Journalism Online, Former Publisher of the Wall Street Journal

Gordon Crovitz: former Publisher of the Wall Street JournalGordon Crovitz is a senior international media executive, president, publisher and advisor to technology and media companies. He has more than 25 years of U.S. and global business operations experience at Dow Jones in print, online, digital, broadcasting and event media, including as publisher, The Wall Street Journal where he had B-to-B and B-to-C P&L responsibility of $1.1 billion and a staff of 4,000. Crovitz has expertise in turnaround, restructuring, M&A and integrating across media channels, functions and brands. He is on the boards of ProQuest and Blurb and advisory boards of several startups.

Eric Grilly: EVP & Chief Digital Officer, Comcast Sports Group

Eric Grilly: EVP & Chief Digital Officer, Comcast SportsEric J. Grilly, one the country’s most experienced and respected leaders in the field of digital news and information, is executive vice president and chief digital officer for Comcast Sports Group, the nation’s leading provider of local sports coverage. Mr. Grilly is responsible for all of Comcast Sports Group’s digital operations including strategy, content, new product and business development and technology. 

 Prior to joining Comcast Sports Group in May of 2009, Mr. Grilly served as president of philly.com, the website for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News, president and CEO of MediaNews Group Interactive, and vice president of the Denver Post, responsible for the newspaper’s website, DenverPost.com

Bill Grueskin: Dean of Academic Affairs, Columbia School of Journalism

Bill Grueskin: Dean of Academic Affairs, Columbia School of JournalismBill Grueskin began his journalism career in 1975 as a reporter and editor at the Daily American in Rome, Italy. In 1995, Grueskin joined The Wall Street Journal as an editor on Page One; he was named deputy Page One editor in 1998, responsible for such coverage areas as the changing stock market, welfare reform, race and business, and the internet economy. In June 2001, Grueskin was named managing editor of The Wall Street Journal Online, the largest subscription news site on the Web. He oversaw the staff in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, across the street from the Journal’s offices. In 2007, he was named deputy managing editor/news for The Journal, overseeing 14 domestic news bureaus, and combining the print and online news-editing desks in New York and New Jersey. He has served on various community boards, and also has served as a Pulitzer Prize juror in the public-service and features categories. Grueskin joined the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism as Dean of Academic Affairs in September of 2008.

Michael Rogers: Former Futurist-in-Residence, The New York Times

Michael Rogers: former Futurist-in-Residence, The New York TimesMichael Rogers is an interactive media pioneer, novelist, journalist and former Futurist-in-Residence for The New York Times Company. For ten years he was vice president of The Washington Post Company's new media division, helping guide the newspaper and its sister publication Newsweek into the new century, as well as serving as editor and general manager of Newsweek.com. His consultancy, Practical Futurist, works with both startups and major media companies, and he writes a column of the same name for MSNBC. After a decade as a writer for Rolling Stone, Rogers co-founded Outside magazine. He joined Newsweek to create the magazine's Technology section, covering topics ranging from Chernobyl and genetic engineering to the rise of the Internet, earning numerous journalism awards. In 1993 he produced the world's first CD-ROM newsmagazine, described in the media as a prototype for interactive television, going on to develop areas on Prodigy, America Online and then a series of Internet sites including the award-winning Parents’ Guide to Children’s Software, which also appeared in CD-ROM and book form. In 1999 he received a patent for the bimodal spine, a multimedia storytelling technique, and is listed in Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. Rogers is a frequent guest on radio and television and regularly addresses audiences worldwide. In 1989 he was founding chairperson of the European Technology Roundtable, an annual CEO gathering, which he continues to moderate along with the newer Asian Technology Roundtable.
 

Christian A. Hendricks:  Vice President, Interactive Media, The McClatchy Company

Christian A. Hendricks - Vice President, Interactive Media, McClatchyMr. Hendricks has been Vice President, Interactive Media since 1999. He joined the company in 1992 as Advertising Manager, Marketing for The Fresno Bee, and the following year became its Marketing Director. In 1994 he was named Manager of Technology for McClatchy, and held this position until 1996 when he was promoted to President and Publisher of Nando Media, McClatchy's internet publishing company. He remained there until taking his current position in 1999. In 2004, Mr. Hendricks assumed the additional role of President of Nando Media, which was renamed McClatchy Interactive in 2005. Mr. Hendricks was named "New Media Pioneer" in 2003 by the Newspaper Association of America's New Media Federation. He has served on the federation's board and various NAA committees.

Joe Pennisi, Chief Information Officer, IrishCentral.com
