One of the newspapers divested in the Knight-Ridder sale, the Akron Beacon Journal, was purchased by the Black Press group of Canada. We're proud to announce that the online property of the Beacon Journal, Ohio.com launched on the Clickability Platform this week, the first of many of the Black Press papers to do so.
I wrote some time ago about newspapers being under-served by legacy vendors...well Clickability winning the business of Ohio.com is a great example. Throughout the vendor selection process, Jim Arnold, Senior Content Producer for Ohio.com was contacting customers of the three different vendors they were evaluating (contacting them directly, without references I might add - sneaky Jim, sneaky...but smart!). A consistent story emerged from everyone Jim spoke with: Clickability kept it's promises, delivered a solid/stable/scalable product that regularly improved, and was supported by a client services team that they couldn't say enough good things about. The other vendors...well, let's just say they didn't inspire much enthusiasm.
Unfortunately the timing at our VIP conference prevented me from interviewing Jim. But here's an excerpt from my interview with Mark Heimberg that speaks to what it's like working with the Clickability Client Services team:
